Duke took a deep breath, slowly letting Tim go. “Fine. But you have to promise me you’ll head straight to the Manor.”
Tim nodded, “Twenty minutes. I’ll be there before anything happens to me.”
“Promise me,” Duke said again. Tim couldn’t see his eyes, but even without Duke using his powers, Tim could feel how blinding his stare was.
“I promise,” Tim said.
It was a promise Tim wouldn't keep.
