Summary
Reconstruction is well under way after the massive destruction caused by the Quincy invasion. Byakuya Kuchiki is secretly hopeful for the future and all the changes he can foresee happening with a new King on the throne.
However, there are still huge day-to-day repercussions from the events of the war. Everyone was affected; even those who weren't known to be able to feel anything. His fellow captain of the 11th division is even more of a disgrace to his rank, drinking all day long or staring absently at everyone with no drive or care in the world. No one has dared confront the madman, especially with his newfound Shikai... Well, he is a Kuchiki and it is his duty. Kenpachi seems so out of it, he doubts he could be a threat to him.
