“No, not both— just…Hyuna,” She quickly amends, ignoring Dewey’s loud ‘coughing’ into his fist, clearly failing to pretend he isn’t witnessing this weird exchange. Hyuna straightens herself, once more summoning up all her patience, trying to explain better. “Look, names. Yours is Luka, right? Says it right there on your collar.”
“Luka… Master’s Luka?” Luka tries again, sounding very uncertain himself.
“Oh my god,” Dewey mutters.

He reaches out, very slowly, and taps each of Hyuna’s fingers, counting out loud in a mumble:
“One… two… three… four…”
Luka’s finger pauses. He looks up at her in alarm. “I lost count.”
Hyuna laughs, shaking her head. “You were doing fine, dummy. Keep going.”
“Dummy…” Luka repeats, puzzled. “Is that a special name?”
“Sure,” Hyuna says, deadpan despite the subtle twitch of her lips betraying her. “It’s a really special one. Only for people with squishy brains and cute faces.”
Luka’s face heats up immediately. “My brain’s not squishy…”

The Wanderer follows her gaze, once again to the dusky skyline. Its colours so deceptively pretty, when he knows full well it is only a veneer of the heavens. Surely she must know too. How unfair, that the Traveller is capable of being so oblivious to the wounding knot in his chest.
"Other men?" He says, half teasing. Half.
"Jealous?" The Traveller teases back. And again, he guesses, only half.

“Traveler,” he says, a little dry, a little tormented. There’s a creak of bedsprings as he props the upper half of his form up and off the bed. “I don’t believe I need to tell you that sneaking into my room every night like this is inappropriate.”
She scrunches her nose. His gaze is sharp as he watches her hand falling limply to her side.
“I’m not doing this for you,” she snaps, but it only begs the question: for who then? Maybe there’s something in the way that his back wavers that reminds her of herself. Insecure underneath all that indifference, grasping for any semblance of familiarity.
He blinks. Then, a sneer. Ever so teasing, ever so spiteful. “So you’re doing this for yourself? Oh, the implications.”
A traveler, a wanderer — and the thin line between love and hate, between forever and never.

Summary
After Hyuna’s leg suddenly went numb, her guardian, Phan, sends her out to stay with an “old friend” in hopes of getting it fixed. Enter Heperu and his elaborate manor, Hyuna’s new temporary living quarters in hopes to understand why her leg has suddenly failed her.
