Both of them lean into the kiss at the same time, too ecstatic to wait for any proper verbal cue. Their noses bump together and Ranboo nearly misses Tubbo’s mouth entirely, brushing his lips against the corner of his blinding smile. Ranboo’s giggling too much for them to kiss for too long, and Tubbo’s smiling too hard to focus on it anyway.
It felt like their first kiss all over again, and in a way, it was.

“Tell me a secret, Ranboo.” It’s more of a demand than he meant for it to be, and he can tell it spooked Ranboo with the sharp inhale Tubbo got in response. He’s so close, but Tubbo leans a little bit closer to extend himself as an apology. Ranboo gets a headbutt to the side of his nose. It makes the both of them giggle, and tension that wasn’t there before starts to fade away.
“You won’t stop asking me until I give you one,” Ranboo points out with an arched brow when Tubbo pulls away from his face, rubbing his head where they collided, “will you?”

Tubbo sucked his bottom lip between his teeth, chewing on it for a moment as he thought. Sometimes, the yearning for normalcy got a little too hard to bear on his own. Turning his head over to Ranboo, he kept his eyes cast downward. “Do you think we could do it?”
“Do what?” Ranboo asks, and he shuffles a little so they could meet at eye level. He had already been looking at Tubbo- and found it hard to tear himself away. To him, it felt like walking into a home after a cold day, or a sunflower diligently following the sun.
“Go outside.”

Forever in a chase just to catch a glimpse of the other to see if they were looking back at you, and knowing they were before you even had to check. He met Tubbo, too.
And with Tubbo came a whirlwind of new and amplified emotions that consumed his every waking thought, and all the poems he read as a kid on Tumblr started to make sense, and all the love songs sounded like they'd been written about him, and Ranboo was falling hard and quick, and he couldn't help crashing and burning every night, drowning in nothing but his own doubt.
