“You’re dead,” she said, using the very same tone as his. “Any other clever remarks, vampire?”
“How long do you intend to keep me under your spell?” he asked.
Elphaba tilted her head.
“Until I decide you are not a danger.”

Elphaba lives hidden deep in a forest, far from eyes, sight and questions about her powers, her skin or her age. She aids creatures in need, be them animals, people or half-dead beings; and when a vampire asks for her help, she decides that it is just another creature to be helped.
