Summary
The rivalry between himself and Yoongi has been going on for longer than Seokjin can remember. The top salesman gets bragging rights, a trophy, cash from the loser, the pride of victory. There’s no reason for it beyond pushing themselves to do better, achieve more. Or perhaps it's something else, something that makes Seokjin feel a little warm when he sees Yoongi smile, makes him queasy when Yoongi dances with someone else at happy hour. Seokjin refuses to think about it, all that matters is proving he’s the best.

“Thereabouts,” Hoseok echoes with a snort. “It shouldn’t be this hard for you to talk to him, you’re never like this. He must be really hot.”
Jimin sighs. “You have no idea.”

Living next to Namjoon is great, definitely ideal. Namjoon is a kind and respectful neighbor, never making noise at odd hours, no loud parties, no weird smells. So why can’t Jimin string together two words to even greet him normally? (The answer, of course, is that Namjoon is hot, and Jimin is head over heels.)

"What about your shirt?" Yoongi blurts before he can stop himself.
Namjoon raises an eyebrow and looks down at himself, confused. "What about it?"
"I could..." he trails off. Yoongi is pretty sure the grinning skull on Namjoon's shirt is mocking him.
Namjoon blinks. "You want to put your hands up my shirt?"
It sounds like a great idea when Namjoon says it out loud.
Really great.

Winning tickets to a music festival is top tier. Winning tickets to a music festival when it’s cold and you’re in only a t-shirt? Less than perfect. But Namjoon is warm and doesn’t brush off Yoongi’s suggestion of putting his hands up his shirt for warmth. And it’s not a big deal, they’re friends, friends can do these things. Until their eyes meet and the music swells and things become a bigger deal than intended.

“It was an accident!” Yoongi snaps. “Like I would even want a marriage proposal from that stupid hot himbo…” he grumbles.
“Did you just call him hot?”
Yoongi stiffens. “No, of course not, don’t talk to me.”

A mistakenly sent selfie turns into a fierce (one-sided) office rivalry. Despite what Seokjin says, his new arch nemesis Namjoon isn’t cute, and Yoongi’s ensuing prank attacks won’t turn into a burgeoning romance, thank you very much.
