Summary
The stars were burning in the night sky. The hallways were dark, only lit by the pale emergency lighting above the doorframes. They tinted the hard wood floor and walls green, leaving the rest of the corridor in black shadows. The staircase beyond the glass door across the hallway, on the contrary, was floodlit and drenched in yellow. The harsh light there hurt the eyes of the late passers-by, the single young man who made his way upstairs was squinting against the lamps suspended from the ceiling. He yawned and padded further upstairs, passing one hallway after another, setting one foot in front of the other.
Grantaire makes a late night discovery that tips his world upside down as he enters unknown territory.

Summary
Three moments in which Joe made heart eyes at Nicky and one time Nicky couldn't help himself but return the favour.
The first time it happened, they were in the steppes, far from any civilisation but they had finally found each other after long voyages that seemed to have led them across each other’s path but never to the same place. Once they had found each other, however, they could not imagine travelling in their previous arrangements. Andromache and Quynh were outspoken and blunt about the way they lay together and invited Yusuf and Nicolò to do the same. Whether it was for warmth or pleasure, they made no secret of their closeness.
Nicolò was ready to admit that it had its advantages to sleep close enough to Yusuf to flee the cold once their fire burned low and the cold crept through their blankets. Ever since they had moved past their initial struggles and the fights they got into turned into long talks and their attempts at killing each other had become something else, Nicolò had found peace in Yusuf’s arms, a peace that had eluded him before.

Was the man the most stunning thing he had ever seen and would he toss that grudge aside in a heartbeat if it meant they would hop into bed together....of course.

At times, it seemed like all they did was no more than a single raindrop of hope in an ocean of despair and chaos, but together all those raindrops had evidently helped. Copley had captured it all, the last one hundred and fifty years of their lives condensed down into a few dozen photos and newspaper clippings. It seemed so small, and yet, all encompassing at the same time.
Kind of like how a declaration of love in a van during an abduction had condensed down all nine hundred and twenty years of an epic romance into a few hundred words. It seemed an impossible feat, but then, his Yusuf was just the kind of guy to pull it off.
Or, the stories behind the speech in the van.
