Summary
“Come on, Pitts, it's Valentine's!” Neil whispered-yelled at his side, shaking Pitts’ shoulder lightly in excitement.
“And his birthday” Knox added, walking around them to get on his other side. “Think about it! That's like, the most romantic opportunity you can get and you're still wasting it”, Pitts opened his mouth but couldn't come up with any answer. It was a coincidence that Meeks’ birthday was three days before Valentine's day — and another coincidence that they happened to be dating —, but he'd never put much thought into it. Steven's birthday always came first in his mind, and it wasn't like they didn't acknowledge the following date, they just didn't fuzz over it. Unlike some people. In his opinion, the rest of the poets were overly excited about the 14th.

Summary
When a grief-stricken Todd Anderson moves to New York City, he plans on keeping his head down. He’s in no state to do much more than write, study for grad school, pick up a part-time job, read poetry, stay numb, and carry on.
That plan begins to unravel the night he stumbles into a bar called The Dead Poets Society, a dim, welcoming place that hosts open-mic nights, poetry slams, and live music.
It’s owner, Neil Perry, kind, caring, charismatic, carrying deep scars of his own, offers Todd a job. Slowly, Neil and his eccentric circle of friends begin to draw Todd out of his shell in a way that once felt impossible.
Friendships, art, and a kind of care Todd has never quite known how to ask for begin to soften the edges of his broken heart, and for the first time, he allows himself to imagine a future he never thought he’d be permitted to have.
But grief has teeth, and it isn’t quite finished with him yet.
A Modern AU about grief, found family, and learning how to live, and love, after trauma
