“I’ve never kicked anyone in the face.”
“Ya’ve thought about it.”
“I’m thinking about it right now.”
Atsumu chuckled, rubbing slow circles into Kiyoomi’s shoulder.
“You don’t make me anxeous…surprisingly,” Kiyoomi muttered after a pause.
Atsumu grinned. “That supposed to be a compliment?”
“Take it however you want.”
“Oh, I’m takin’ it as a huge one.”

After stopping just long enough to shower at Osamu's and acquire the right bribe at Onigiri Miya, he went to the one place in Tokyo he knew would not make him witness whatever Akaashi and Bokuto had going on. Or, at the very least, certainly wouldn’t give him hives walking across the floor.
Which was how he found himself on Sakusa Kiyoomi's far-too-fancy-for-a-university-student doorstep.
Sakusa, naturally, had immediately tried to close the apartment door in his face.
Or: Nobody knew Kageyama and Hinata were together. Everyone knew Sakusa and Atsumu were together, except for Sakusa and Atsumu.

It’s a political arrangement he has mostly resigned himself to undertaking for the good of his kingdom, and it includes staying with his husband-to-be in Inarizaki until Osamu’s twenty-fifth birthday, when Osamu will come of marrying age. All of this would at least be tolerable, if it weren’t for Osamu’s identical twin brother, Atsumu, who may actually be the most annoying person Kiyoomi has ever had the misfortune of meeting.

Miya reaches behind him, slipping his green scarf off the arc of the chair. Even with two litres of beer coursing through his bloodstream, his movements are deft from years of physical conditioning. In the diminutive space between them, he folds Kiyoomi's scarf in half and sweeps it over his curls, right hand expertly guiding tassels through the loop as his left glides it to his neck. Kiyoomi should feel anxious that Miya is in control of such a vital part of him, and yet he doesn't. Miya lets go barely short of a snug fit. Fanning soft fabric over his bare collarbones, he steps back to admire his handiwork.
"Ready to go?" he asks casually, stuffing his hands into coat pockets, and it hits Kiyoomi harder than a barreling truck.
It's not that Miya’s been acting weird lately.
Their whole relationship is abnormal.

“Ya ain’t allowed to bolt on me now Omi-kun,” Atsumu states what Kiyoomi’s already thinking, earning him a scrunched up face in lieu of a response. “Don’t worry, I ain’t gonna keep ya long. And y’re just a few steps away from y’r safe haven,” he punches in the code without covering up the keypad.
“Bold of you to think I won’t memorize that,” Kiyoomi replies to Atsumu’s brazenness of not being more discreet.
“Bold of ya t’ think I don’t want ya to,” Atsumu winks.

Sakusa looks at Hikaru like Atsumu’s talking bullshit, but his eyes are curled at the edges in something that’s close to Suna’s face when Hikaru crawls into his lap. He pokes the adorable mole on Hikaru’s cheek and finds the audacity to say, “He’s tolerable.”
Or, the one in which Atsumu isn't Spiderman, but he's a single dad, and that's pretty much the same thing.

Atsumu wants love. To have and to give.
Maybe it comes with the age, with the concerning grey hairs and smile lines. Maybe it comes with seeing friends and family of the similar age bracket be colored distinctly with love and all its rosiness and be all the better for it.
Maybe it simply comes from a lack thereof.Atsumu wants love, and he’s not sure if he deserves it, but he certainly doesn’t think he’ll ever have it. Not the unadulterated kind of love, not the sincere kind of love. Not the kind of love that is born from a delicate and intricate understanding of the recipient.
He can’t fathom ever having it right now, at least, not with his weary bones and droopy eyes; Chopin in his areas and immovable yearning in his soul.

Miya Atsumu suffers from chronic insomnia. Instead of sleeping, he likes to think of all the things that he wants and will not have. Like his brother's fatty tuna onigiri, like being the best setter in the league, like having true love. But when his lack of sleep finally gets to him, he doesn't expect his neighbor, Sakusa Kiyoomi, to present him with everything he wants and maybe even more.
