Summary
For the following years after his adoption was finalised, everything was perfect.
Tommy was loved and cared for. He had support constantly and he adored his older brothers and his dad.
They were everything to him.
But things didn’t remain perfect.
Perhaps Tommy should never have let his guard down.
When one family member left, everything changed.
Fights became common and yells often sounded around the house, only ended by the slam of a door or two.
Tommy really had thought that he found a family that was happy and wanted him.
But, every day was proving him wrong.

When Wilbur gave up on college and came home early only a month after leaving, Tommy's family seemed to break. Technoblade remained at his college overseas. The house was always loud but Tommy had never felt so alone before. It was only a matter of time until he broke.

“Are you trying to get killed, Potter?” Malfoy drawls, stalking forward. Quick as a serpent himself, he reaches out and grabs the snake just below the head. It thrashes in his grip, but is no longer able to bite anyone. “This is a poisonous snake, and I doubt anyone brought a bezoar with them.”
Harry glares. He opens his mouth, and feels the beginning the snake’s language pass his lips, and this isn’t what he wants, what’s the point of insulting Malfoy if he can’t understand him –
Malfoy’s eyes widen. He slaps his hand over Harry’s mouth, “Potter, what the hell–”

They had vague hopes that maybe they’d be able to find something, somewhere, that might help him, perhaps run their own tests, try and save him. But most of the time, they didn’t have the luxury to think about the future and hope. Most of the time, they simply had to survive until the next morning. So it was a thought that they pushed to the back of their minds, filed for a time when they could think and plan. It was a thought that was reserved for the long, sleepless nights when they all laid pretending to be asleep, pretending that they weren’t living on borrowed time.

Summary
Tubbo wakes from a dream of fire and smoke to find Tommy shaking him.
Tommy is bright, is loud, is irritating and joyful and a force of unbridled chaos. So when, seemingly overnight, his laughs turn brittle and his eyes turn shadowed, and flinches start to punctuate every movement he makes, no one knows why, or what to do about it.
Tubbo and Wilbur are concerned, to say the least. And they're not the only ones.
(Meanwhile, Tommy is desperately trying to prevent a nightmare from happening to everyone he knows. And if he has to sacrifice himself to make this the best possible timeline, so be it.)
