Summary
“I hear there was an incident yesterday?”
Incident is such a versatile word. Tim looks away from the man to look around the office instead. He likes it here. It’s colourful, with pictures on the wall and books stuffed in the shelves and a box of toys the man offered Tim exactly once before he realised that Tim doesn’t know what to do with them.
Sometimes they draw though and he can see the crayons tucked away in the box too.
“I was sick of the white,” Tim says as if it’s an explanation.
“I see,” the man says, also as if it’s an explanation.

Tim is not alright. Jason tries to help.

Damian rolls over in bed with a dread that runs down his spine.
“I also invited in a guest! He was waiting outside for you, says his name is, uhm, what was your name again?”
Damian lurches off his bed.
In an instant his eyes go searching for the katana under his bed, and he starts reaching for it until a masculine voice answers Mrs. McFarland.
“Tim.”
Damian considers leaving the katana behind to escape through the window.
