Summary
Shen Qingqiu saves Liu Qingge from a qi deviation and things are never the same. It's just because Shen Qingqiu is acting different all of a sudden. Liu Qingge is only interested because Shen Qingqiu is being terribly suspicious. Helping people? Helping Liu Qingge? Something's wrong. And that's the only reason why he's concerned with Shen Qingqiu.
Updates irregularly (I'm so sorry). Given my history with publishing on here, it's likely that I won't finish this, but I'm going to share it anyway because I think it's good and people will enjoy what exists of it. Maybe it'll even inspire someone, I dunno. Enjoy!

Only, instead of answers and info, they only have myriad questions of their own. Do these wizards still count as Veiled if they have magic of their own? What's the difference between a pet and a familiar? And, most pressingly: what's up with Dazai Osamu?

October has quite a bit of original worldbuilding around them so this'll be a fun challenge, trying to keep too much of that from confusing this. This is based off of "Magic and Mystery" by Allegory_for_Hatred and will sort of follow that plotline, but at the same time this focuses on October's POV of the year so some things might be left out / seem wrong based on what October knows of a given situation (although I will say they tend to know more than they should). -

“What can I say,” Venti shrugged. “I have a taste for dandelion wine, specifically Diluc’s.” Not “Master Diluc” Kaeya noticed. Venti lifted his glass and took a long gulp, wine dripping down his chin. Diluc reached out to wipe it away with his thumb, his eyes hooded. Venti blinked. “Oh. Hi there, Diluc.”
If Kaeya didn’t know better, he’d say the bard’s face was a bit flushed. Kaeya couldn’t imagine Venti blushing for anyone—must be a trick of the light.
“Sorry,” Diluc coughed into his fist awkwardly. “I—don’t know what came over me.”

"I don't think you understand me at all. I think you're scared of me," Ranpo says, hoping Chuuya will stop staring at him with his sky-blue eyes. Chuuya laughs.
"Listen, I've met enough super-genius freaks to last a lifetime. The only one scared of you here is you."
Ranpo Edogawa is many things, most of them facets of himself he wishes didn't exist. What he is not, however, is someone who takes risks, someone who leaves thing to chance. He doesn't lose control of himself; he doesn't rely on strangers to help him feel better, and he doesn't make conversation with mafiosos infinitely stronger than he is. Until, before he realizes it, he does.
Chuuya, Ranpo, Yokohama lights, and something like understanding.

Summary
There were no love confessions or no heartfelt conversations. Oh, no. Their love was hectic and fierce, filled with heated nights and bared teeth that painted their skin red and purple for weeks. However, once in a while, there were moments like these... times when Akutagawa would simply allow Chuuya to hold him close as a comfortable silence fell between them.
They never pointed it out nor mentioned it afterwards. Yet, they continued to do it because despite the word "love" never crossing their lips, there were moments like this that neither of them had to say anything to know.
Or
Chuuya slowly begins to discover Akutagawa's interests while learning something about himself along the way.
