Knowing the Party would abandon him immediately to go do their own thing, Steve's hope was that there was something that would be even mildly entertaining. Color him surprised when he goes to watch the Joust and his attention is drawn not by the horses and riders, but by the charismatic herald.

Summary
A sunburn was never supposed to change everything.
After a long summer day by the pool, Eddie Munson is left scorched and miserable after ignoring Steve Harrington's recommendations. When Eddie realizes they are alone for what was supposed to be a group movie night, what starts as playful teasing between them turns into something neither of them can ignore anymore.
As Steve’s careful touch soothes more than just Eddie’s burned skin, buried feelings rise fast and fierce, and realization hits Eddie like a lightning strike: he’s in love with his best friend. And Steve? He might be feeling the same.

Summary
Steve scoops up another stray ball and adjusts his stance to hurl the thing across the court when a loud thunk rips through the cacophony of noise. It’s quiet enough to hear a pin drop for all of three seconds before everyone breaks into laughter — tears practically streaming down their faces as they point at an injured Eddie Munson starfished on the gym floor with a dodgeball imprint on the side of his face.
The Steve from last year probably would have been like them but Steve’s not that guy anymore, at least he’s actively trying not to be. Breaking out into a light jog, Steve bobs and weaves his way through the crowd that’s gathered and makes it over to Eddie.
“Hey man,” Steve says, lowering himself to the floor. He situates himself in the same position as Eddie, knees practically to his chest as his legs bracket Eddie between him. “That was a nasty hit. Are you okay?"
“Fine, I am.” Eddie immediately cringes. “I mean, I fine am. No wait… I—“

Summary
In the spring of 1983, Steve Harrington starts seeing and hearing things he shouldn’t.
A nail-studded bat and flashing lights. Children’s high, bickering voices. Lapping blue water, chlorine, and guilt. Moments from a life he hasn’t lived crash into him without warning, vivid enough to leave him shaking.
Steve might be losing his mind, but he's certain of one thing: Barbara Holland is going to die. Before the year is out, someone – or something – is going to murder her. So he does the only logical thing – he attempts to befriend her. It's easier to save someone if you're standing next to them, right?
Setting out to save Barb is supposed to make things make sense.
Instead, it causes Steve to question everything he thought he knew. The visions keep coming. And the more Steve tries to fix things, the more uncertain the world around him becomes. Especially when it comes to Eddie Munson – someone Steve can’t quite explain. Someone who feels different than he should, heavier somehow, as if the future itself is pulling Steve toward him. A gravity Steve is certain wasn't there before.

Summary
Sometimes he feels like a stray dog Steve found on the side of the road; desperate for affection and clinging overwhelmingly to its new owner. Like if he holds on tight enough he'll never have to beg for scraps again. Other times he's that same dog turned antisocial. Cruel. Lashing out at the person showing it kindness because it doesn't recognise it. Doesn't think it deserves it.
