But now, with Peter sitting next to him, his only friend in the world, he just felt scared.

Summary
The kingdom of Hawkins had been split in two since history remembered well enough to recount, and it had nothing to do with the acre-stretching cracks in the ground.
Humans had always been at odds with creatures. A Cold War between magic and normalcy, waged by the powerful, in the north of the kingdom where their monarchy stood.

Summary
When Will was a young boy, he experienced violent visions, leading him to become a student at the Temple of the Deity of Darkness and developing a deep connection with the associated goddess, Tenebrisata, allowing him to gain cleric powers.
Mike soon followed his childhood friend to the city, entering training to become a Knight of Ignaradeon to protect the Kingdom of Hawkdown.
Six years later, Will begins experiencing violent visions again, leading them on a quest to rediscover their own history, quieten the visions, defeat whatever strange entity is causing them, and perhaps address the feelings that have brewing between them for years.

Instinct overtook him as he dropped to one knee and gingerly took the boy’s hand, which was soft yet steady, warm with a kind of quiet power.“Sir Michael of House Wheeler, Knight of the Silver Guard, at your service,” he blurted out—too formal, too fast, yet trembling with a vulnerability that the cleric couldn’t help but let his lips quirk up into a smirk.
“I know who you are,” he teased lightly. After a thoughtful beat, he added, “William the Wise, Cleric of Selûne.”

It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.
