Why did I do that?
Deidara is staring at the blue above himself. It seems so vivid. So inexplicably wondrous. It has no end, it just goes on and on no matter how long Deidara watches it, feeling his eyelashes shake while black dots begin to creep up at the edge of his vision. All things are meant to end, after all, that's what's so beautiful about it, but this blindingly blue sky doesn't seem to ever reach its end. Deidara stares at it, stares and stares, slowly coming to a realization which felt like burning hot waves of the pain rising upwards, to his concussed brain and nerves numbed by years of training.
All things are meant to end and he, Deidara, the traitor of Iwagakure, Third Tsuchikage's greatest shame, the member of the most powerful terrorist organization in the world, the creator of art of the most wonderous fleeting moment, is going to reach his end very soon.
Or, a mission goes wrong, and Deidara chooses to protect Tobi as a good senpai should. "In exchange for one getting injured, another was saved." But is this world's rule as absolute as it seems?

“Tobi, I’m gonna drink myself to death, mm,” Deidara warned, sounding evenly flirty and bitter.
“Sure senpai,” was all Tobi managed to utter, blown away by stripper’s double D’s.
Deidara seethed. Used to Tobi’s undivided attention, being ignored felt like a slap to the face – a challenge he’ll surely come to regret. He’s a bottle away from discarding dignity alongside articles of clothing and recapturing his fool’s attention, one way or another.
Deidara goes on a pole. Obito goes insane.

Every time he removes the blossoms filling up his windpipe, Obito does it in the cover of darkness. He has no particular desire to look at the bloodstained daisies crushed between his fingers. He remembers back then, when he first got these flowers and went crying to his Grandmother, the woman had told him that daisies symbolize innocence and kindness and that the girl he has feelings for must be a wonderful person. That had cheered him up a little, funny enough. He had taken comfort in the fact that Rin was just as amazing as he thought she was. After all, Hanahaki is a sign from Kami, and Kami doesn’t lie.
