A long haul marauder school fic. Will eventually include Dorlene jily and wolfstar. With a bit of jegulus.
Also I know it’s set in the 70s-80s but I thought it might be a cool idea to include songs from after that time period (obviously not when the characters are like listening to it, but just at certain moments to set the mood :).)
This is the first book and each book will probably span over one year

Summary
To the Marauders and to Regulus Black, James Potter is the sun. He is a joy to be around and one of the most supportive friends one can have. James looks out for all of his friends. James looks out for Remus by making his life as easy and painless as possible. James looks out for Peter by giving him advice and encouraging letters. James looks out for Sirius by helping him through panic attacks and nightmares. James looks out for everyone, but no one is looking out for him.
James is stuck in a perfectionist cycle striving for perfection in everything. He needs to have good grades, and he needs to be the best chaser at Hogwarts. His desires become obsessive, and his struggles go under the radar of his friends. James is under-eating, and over-exercising and his anxiety is nearly debilitating.
It is the summer before the sixth year when everything changes when Sirius Black finally runs away from home. James finds Sirius at his doorstep with his trunk and holding on to his little brother’s hand for dear life. Regulus notices that James isn’t who he seems to be, but that doesn’t make him any less perfect in his eyes.Bookmarked by evianderson1

“Can’t break what doesn’t exist.” Sirius spits out bitterly.
“Sirius--”
“Please James,” he says earnestly, “you’d win the bet and everything. I just want my brother back.”
“I-I get that, but I’m just not sure how I would be able to help.”
“He looks up to you.” Sirius replies, “you’re the only one who can.”
James Potter finds out his days on earth are numbered, so, in light of being (painfully) single, his friends hatch a bet to find out if he can win somebody's heart by the end of the school year. On a whim, Sirius suggests he try it with his hated and untrusting little brother, Regulus. There's just one problem. Sirius believes the budding romance between them is all for show.
