Summary
In a way, Noah supposed he also had been reborn alongside Devon. The old Noah, bitter at the world and at himself, the one who had betrayed his friends and was responsible for the death of the person he loved, was no longer. He had made a lot of mistakes in the past but, while not his goal, he had tried to make up for them. Maybe Devon was right. They were more often than not. Maybe he was allowed to start afresh. Maybe he could even do everything he had thought he was never meant to.
But despite Devon's usually sound judgement, they were wrong about one thing. Their death could never have paved the path of redemption and healing for him.
No, Noah could only do that with them by his side.
Or; Devon and Noah and navigating through a future they thought they had lost long ago, together.
