Neuvillette’s head turned so quickly one might have thought he was an owl. “Excuse me?” His tone was even more sharp and cold than usual, but Wriothesley didn’t seem bothered by it whatsoever. “What did you say?”
Wriothesley leaned back in his chair, arms crossed over his chest as if he couldn’t care less that Neuvillette looked like he was about to bite his head off. “I said you talk too much.” His shoulders lifted and then dropped loosely, his signature wolfish grin on his face. “Did you need me to repeat it one more time for you?”
The gall of that man had Neuvillette seething as he glared daggers at him. “Why you–” He took a deep, shuddery breath to try and calm himself. Letting his temper get the best of him was not very proper of him as the Chief Justice of Fontaine. “I do not take criticism from a man such as yourself.” He finished primly, his eyes flicking up and down Wriothesley’s figure with disdain.
