“Who the fuck are you?”
“Steve Rogers.” Steve straightens, looks Bucky in the eye. Remembers all the times he’s said this, in a future that this world will never see. “I’m your friend.”
“Steve Rogers,” Bucky repeats, mouth twisting bitterly. “Captain America. The same Captain America who’s buried in ice, who fucking sacrificed his fool ass to stop the Red Skull, who crashed a motherfucking plane into goddamn ice nine days ago.”
“Twelve,” Steve corrects a little numbly, because that’s the easiest part he can address. “I went down on February 2nd. It took them a while to determine whether or not to let the public know. To weigh the demoralization my death will cause against the vengeful heroics my sacrifice will inspire. Clearly, they decided on the latter eventually, but I’ve been told it was pretty close.”

When Steve uses the last of his Pym Particles to travel to 1944 and save his best friend, he doesn’t have a plan beyond leaving behind the battlefield and living his life alongside the people he loves.
But time has a will of its own.

Summary
Bucky Barnes' life has hit a skid. After his high school sweetheart divorced him, his life is solidly lodged in a rut with few prospects and little motivation for change. After witnessing a murder at a local airport, he goes into hiding to avoid the murderer from shutting him up. Permanently. He finds himself hiding on Eden, a resort specializing in kink. And because the cosmos are out to laugh in his face, he soon discovers his ex-husband is running the joint. Because of course he is.
Reconnecting is a rocky road when people are out to kill Bucky and his emotions are compromised by the sudden discovery of his kink side. What would his religious parents have to say about that? Nothing good.
The Exit to Eden AU literally no one asked for, but I felt like writing anyway.

“Hi,” Bucky said.
The guy froze, looking up at Bucky with startled—and really rather stunning—blue eyes. Bucky tipped his head up and curved his sweetest smile at him, which he figured would a) charm the guy out of wanting to fight him or b) would further annoy him. Bucky was hoping for the former.
Instead of doing either a) or b), the angry blond looked over Bucky's head, looked back down at his feet, and then said, all in a rush, “I’m Steve.”
