Summary
There's something about Kamishiro that's scripted; a play with no parts, performed to an empty crowd. Stitched smiles that pull the strings taut across his face, seams so tight they sting. Akito's never been one for poetics — perhaps Rui is acclimating him to theatrics, what a thought — and he wonders, avidly, if Kamishiro even knows he's doing it.
Rui's smile strains, like the strings are worn, old, battered down to time. The puppet of his figure begins to twitch, nervous, jittery, prepared to continue tugging him along. A masquerade of his own making.
But Akito knows a lot about masks. No matter how infused they are to your face, the reality below will speckle through, flickered to life by that match of wanting. It'll always burn and grow and ache. If you sleep long enough in desire’s haze, you’ll already be dead before you ever get the chance to wake again.
He wakes. Wets his lips, and says, "Is everything I know about you even real?"
OR; Akito pulls Rui apart, piece by piece, until he discovers what's hidden beneath that cunning smile.

The faint glint in Eren’s eye calmed Levi’s flare of indignant anger. “Just… let me…” Eren slid his hand down over Levi’s parted lips, gently brushing them with his fingertips. Levi felt the shudder in his spine just as Eren replaced those fingers with a kiss so tender, he nearly missed it. Just a brief touch of the lips, but Levi felt it far deeper than the surface of his skin.
