Dennis barely contains a scoff. Crossing his arms he straightens, standing as tall as possible. Their height difference really doesn’t help Dennis, not when Robby is literally looking down at him all the time. “I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want to, Robby.”

Jake swallowed, eyes fixed on Jack as he finally walked into the kitchen, moving to make coffee, the picture of at-ease, as if they were well-established and not freaking the kid out. "Right. Your secret situationship is safe with me," he agreed.
"What's a situationship?" Jack asked, looking over his shoulder.
"I -- maybe you should get one of the kids at work to explain it," he said, going red again, sinking down in the seat as if the kitchen table itself might swallow him.

Shit. Jack rubbed the bridge of his nose. "This is why I did the fucking measurements myself," he muttered. Because if they had just used his numbers, there would be no problem; he'd documented everything that needed to be documented and if anyone made an issue of it, then it'd fall on him. No one else.
