Summary
The pain in your head, which seemed unbearable before, now faded to a dull buzz. Something unfamiliar swelled in your chest, past the lingering buzz that the alcohol left. You continued to stare at yourself in the mirror for a long time, taking in the sight like it was a work of art.
You slowly lifted your hand up to your face, running your thumb back and forth along the bridge of your nose, as if trying to savor the feeling of the other boy's knuckles. You lowered your hand, gently lifting up your shirt. A bruise was already starting to spread across your ribs. You lifted your other hand up, pressing your fingers against them, letting out a low groan as pain shot across your side.
Your eyes returned to your face. You grinned, letting out a low chuckle.
God, you really needed that.

There’s something wrong with Will.
It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.

They don't spot him at first, half of them prodding at the dead Children on the floor, checking for life, while the others stare terrified at the girl, tears staining their cheeks as they breathe shakily.The girl looks from the dead Child at her feet to the burly man in front of her. She opens her mouth to answer, but Will seizes her chance.
"Found you." He snarls, a smirk spreading across his face.
