He raised his eyebrows and grinned.

His gaze was so mischievous and disarming, Regulus choked on his wine.
After coughing briefly, he said,
“I thought you three would just get drunk by the lake all summer. Why do you make it sound so… profound?”
James opened his arms, gesturing at the impressive house, the magnificent grounds around them and the entire beautiful evening.
“What’s more profound than getting drunk with your friends in summer?”When James visits the Black brothers at their country estate, Regulus learns just how wild and sweet a summer with him can be.

Cameron his drinks coffee black and Tyler with two creams and two sugars. Sometimes Tyler will slick his hair back or tug on a bandana, smile with a leer in public that lets Erica know exactly what he's thinking about, entirely transparent. Cameron never wears hats or bandanas, a creature of immense habit, his hair always perfectly coiffed, and wears the face of seasoned poker player. But when Cameron gets her alone, he smiles exactly like his brother, and Tyler drinks his coffee black when he thinks no one is watching.
They play their parts with a precision that comes across as genuine to everyone but her. Cameron as the effortless gentleman, never a toe or tongue out of line, and Tyler as the hotheaded brother, whose only saving grace is the methodical calculation of his brother, who has the ability to handle his brother in a way that baffles Erica. But they're a two-headed coin, the illusion of difference only an assumption when you accept the reality with which you are presented, when you can't see the duplication hidden by the skin of a palm.

“When is this party anyway?” James asked, casually. So casually because why wouldn’t it be casual?
“So now you care about the details, huh?” Sirius looked away from Remus and at James instead. “I was thinking before curfew at some point so we can kick you out of the tower to set up and you won’t get into trouble with Filch on your birthday.”
Great. James was already dreading this party and being caught by Filch was the least of his worries.
“Yeah, sounds great.” James nodded, forcing a smile. “How much trouble should I be prepared for?”
“Oh, minimal trouble.” Sirius waved his hand dismissively. He chuckled and looked at Remus and Peter with a ‘can you believe this guy?’-glance that had James a bit more worried. “It’s all sorted. The common room, fun people, a bit of firewhiskey and good music.”
OR
James turns seventeen and all he wants for his birthday is to go on a date with his secret boyfriend, but Sirius has other plans for him that he needs to avoid to get the best birthday of his life.
