This comes as no surprise to any adventurer who has chanced upon the area. The harsh, biting wind and snowy conditions are sure to deter anyone with any semblance of self-preservation.
Unfortunately, Albedo is not one of those people, and as a result, Kaeya has had to adapt.
Jean sent him on this expedition, claiming that Kaeya’s pining was ‘lowering the morale of all the knights’, and that if he missed Albedo that much, he should ‘just go and see him’. As always, Jean is right.
Alternatively: Kaeya develops a crush on Albedo and proceeds to make it everyone’s problem.

“Thank you for your company,” Kaeya returns with a soft smile. “You’re welcome to come over anytime. Klee, too. I mean it.”
Albedo meets his gaze before ducking his head in a nod. “I’ll keep that in mind,” he says quietly. He carefully chooses to call the warmth blooming in his chest a result of being flattered by the statement, rather than anything else. “Goodbye for now, Captain.”
“I think we’re close enough now that you can stop being so formal all the time,” Kaeya says airily, eye twinkling. “Use my name more. I like the way you make it sound.”
He blinks in surprise, lips parting but no response coming out. Kaeya watches him for a minute before laughing lightly, raising a hand in a small wave. “I’ll see you later, Chief Alchemist.”
Or, in a world where those recognized by Celestia are gifted with dragons instead of visions, Kaeya's tiny companion becomes oddly attached to the Knight of Favonius' Chief Alchemist.
Eventually, her master does too.

“You can, also, pass out,” Kaeya tells him. “I imagine that won’t look very graceful.”
“I was under the impression that gracefulness was more of your thing, Captain.”
(Or: Kaeya finds out that he is not the only one in the Favonius Headquarters that is awake at an ungodly hour.)

Albedo swallows the liquor, then licks his lips. There’s leftover wine on them, and his tongue is an inviting shade of pink, and fuck— maybe Kaeya shouldn’t drink after all, because he hasn’t had a single drop and he’s already like this, thinking stupid, inappropriate things.
“You’re a smart man, Captain, so I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.”
Or, the one where Kaeya visits Albedo in his campsite in Dragonspine, but then they get snowed in.
