Summary
The analytical part of Hux’s brain automatically calculates that if the man still has his coat on, it probably means that he hasn’t been sitting there for very long. The logical part of Hux’s brain doesn’t really care, and doesn’t really find this information useful. An even smaller, slightly irrational section of his brain finds the man mildly handsome.
The reasonable part of Hux’s brain angrily stomps that thought out.

And then, after punching two pilots out of the sky, jumped back as if nothing had happened, as if he wasn’t covered in blood, and as if his gloves weren't bitten off to reveal heavily scarred knuckles.
Van Chapman prided herself on not being easily shaken, and she wasn’t. It was just—surprising.
