Summary
An unfortunate byproduct of Chan's schedule is that he's stopped dreaming. Or at the very least, he doesn't remember them, not the way he used to. Everything moves too quickly, and whatever images his brain has conjured fade as soon as he wakes.
For a while, Chan mourned the lack; he missed the flights of fancy, the short escape. But he doesn't dwell on the loss, swept up by all the other things he needs to worry about. Forgetting his dreams isn't a problem.
It's when he begins to remember them that’s the trouble.

a namjin pride & prejudice au, featuring: taehyung as bingley, jungkook as jane, and seokjin and namjoon hating each other for 15,000 words before they realize they might actually be... in love. it's terrible, really.
(this fic isn't totally faithful to p&p, mostly because i couldn't bear making any of them into a mr. wickham. instead, i focused heavily on class differences, which is in the spirit of mizz austen. heh!)

Kuroo, Daichi, Bokuto, Oikawa, Ushijima, and Kita go on a vacation to Osaka. On their last night there, Daichi and Kuroo go bar hopping. Kuroo thinks it's a date. It takes a while for Daichi to realize that.

The thing about Kuroo, about being with Kuroo, is that Daichi can never tire of talking to him. Sure, half the time they’re bickering about something, but the other half of the time their brains just seem to click, both of them laughing at a joke before either of them can say it out loud. It isn’t something that happened overnight, Daichi knows, but it’s a strange relief to be able to talk to Kuroo like this. Of his friends, he’s the only one that’s surprised—he’ll never forget the way Suga scoffed at him, eye roll clear even over a phone call. “Of course you get along,” Suga said, and Daichi could picture him inspecting his nails, as if this wasn’t something earth shattering. “What do you mean?” Daichi sputtered.

Tony tries to pull his hand away, but it’s half-hearted. Tony’s neck is flushed pink, which Steve finds far more charming that he probably should. But that’s all right – it’s Tony, who makes Steve think all sorts of things he’d never before.
“Crimson Dynamo hasn’t given up,” Steve says slowly, as the idea settles. “And the thing is, I don’t like to lie.”
“Hah! Is that supposed to be a—”
“So, the logical thing to do would be to make this real.” Steve looks down at their joined hands, at the way Tony’s fingers flutter restlessly in Steve’s grip. “How about giving it all we’ve got?”
“Oh, my, god,” Tony says. “That is so freaking smooth.”
“That’s why I’m class president,” Steve says.
Tony frowns. “Okay, that is less smooth.”

So, the thing was that: Bucky doesn't like getting called James. James is impersonal, is distant— it's cold.
The only person that managed to make it warm and caring was his mother, and he had long since lost her.
So, he makes everyone call him 'Bucky', or 'Buck', or 'Barnes'— or in Stark's case whatever pop culture reference he thought of that week.
But never James.
He just didn't like it.
Until Rhodey said it.
'Cause that was something else.
