It's so surreal, being attended to by Miles Edgeworth. Just when I start to believe he’s totally ambivalent to my existence, he goes and pulls a stunt like this. Do I finally have a shot at starting to get close with him? Can I take that as a given now that he’s rushed to my side from countries away like this? Will he pull back into the shade of retreat if, later on, I call him or ask him to lunch like I keep wishing I had the courage to?

He is… he is… someone I would never forget if he went missing from my life. And yet, he is also someone with whom I struggle to converse. Even after the reformation of my credo, he is someone who still visits unease and uncertainty upon me. He is someone I’m not even entirely sure will welcome me seeing him in such a vulnerable state, as much as I believe it to be in his best interests to do so.
