Is what he keeps telling himself, until he’s only a few steps away. He stops in his tracks, nearly tripping over himself in the process.
The fish isn’t just massive, it’s… a man. A beautiful golden man with a fish tail who quietly hums to himself, sunbathing on this rock on this random beach. This random, used-to-be-boring beach.

The Soldier didn’t fully turn to him, his head tilting robotically as it had before, still listening, but this time it was different.

Despite the mask that still hid the lower half of his face, the goggles that Steve now held in his hand no longer obscured half of his features, and he realized he could see the Soldier clearly now.
But the Winter Soldier couldn’t.

It's not that Bucky doesn't want to talk. It's that sometimes (most of the time) he can't. So learning ASL is 50% getting around that slight issue and 50% getting Steve to shut his cake-hole about the necessity of him learning to speak again.
Well, to begin with. Then it's pretty much all about him falling head-over-heels for his incredibly hot - yet slightly tragic - ASL teacher.

(for the prompt: Bad guys caught Frank and gave him a truth serum. If he is asked a question he must answer and he must answer with the truth. The only way to be rid of the effects is to truthfully answer a certain amount of questions. (Or something like that, whatever)
Matt shows up before the bad guys get their info (maybe it takes a little while to start working ?) and brings Frank to a random rooftop to ask him a bunch of random questions(what day is it, where are we, etc etc) and then he asks him (Something to the effect of) what color is the sky/how is the sunset ? And Frank gives a really unexpectedly nice (poetic even) answer.
++After that Matt asks him to describe a bunch of other things and it is actually not a bad time (for matt at least))- Language:
