Silence was a good thing. There were no anglers, no wall dwellers, no turrets, or false doors. Just you, and the task at hand. Retrieve the crystal.
So when that silence was broken as soon as you wandered into the next room, you were on alert. You stopped in your tracks to listen.
Someone was… groaning? Were they in pain? It took you a moment to register that this would usually be where Sebastian would meet you, and that the noises were coming from the vent to your left. Oh shit.
You almost rushed inside, but thought twice about it; only then did you realize what was actually happening.

I suggest you learn that particular lesson sooner rather than later.” His gaze trailed down to where Vox’s hand was inching closer to his own. “For your own sake.”
“Let me worry about myself,” he murmured back. “And let me worry about you every once and a while.”
Alastor snickered like the other had just told a good joke, because, well, he had. “I don’t need anybody worrying about me, Vincent.”
“Do you have to need something in order to accept it?” he returned. “Come on, Al. Just… trust me.”Half romantic comedy and half psychological horror, this fic is my take on the events that led up to Alastor and Vox's break off. After having a drunken dub-con hookup they get into a situationship that's one-sided, which Vox is oblivious to, and Alastor is doing on purpose bc he's Like That. It's a dual narrative that leads to the toxic yaoi you know and love.
Ft: friends to lovers to enemies, mind games, incredibly unhealthy attachment, swing dancing, and losing your best friend in the most unexpected and inevitable way
