There's a very quiet moment where they just stare at each other, Wen Qing's eyes searching his face like it will tell her something. The moment snaps and she lets out a quiet snort of laughter.
Wei Ying is appalled. "You're laughing at me! I can't believe this! So attacked – in my own home!"
"This is my house, idiot," She says, rearranging her features into a suppressed smirk, "I'm sorry for laughing," she says and Wei Ying puffs up indignantly, ready to have another go but she silences him with a hand up. "You think?"

Wei Ying asks Lan Zhan on a date to an ice rink, sure he can teach Lan Zhan how to skate. Lan Zhan conveniently does not tell Wei Ying that he has been skating for almost his entire life.
Wei Ying brightens, brown eyes lighting up, “I would love to do unspecific things with you for an unspecified amount of time after work. I have been meaning to go to the ice rink for a while now, do you want to go? Don’t worry if you can’t skate, I can teach you everything you need to know, I’m an excellent teacher.”
Lan Zhan can’t help pausing. Should he decline?
Wei Ying’s eyes shift. “No? Are you busy- that’s fine maybe, another time?”
Lan Zhan forces his breath steady, mentally shaking off the phantom pain that shoots through his hip.
He nods seriously, pulling out his phone. “No. Ice skating sounds lovely.”

Wei Wuxian squeezes Lan Zhan’s hand in his own, eyes still downcast, “I’m ready now! Who said I wasn’t ready?”
Lan Zhan presses a kiss to his temple and Wei Wuxian can feel the smile against his skin, “I will get dressed and get us breakfast,”

Wei Wuxian has a birthday and experiences the mortifying ordeal of trying to figure out how to express gratitude to the body he is currently residing in.
