“And it is with great pride,” Mr. Van Eck announces, “that I share with you the name of the musical we shall be performing this year.” He pauses for dramatic effect. He’s very good at that, being a drama teacher and all.
The pause goes on for a little too long, however, and the drama turns very awkward, very fast.
Van Eck lets it go on a little more, before finally letting it drop: “High School Musical!”
Kaz Brekker snaps his pencil in half.
“What the fuck,” he mutters under his breath.—
