Summary
He pulls up his shirt – and something is burning on his shoulder, but this is more urgent – and sees the proof with his own eyes.
Not only are there no marks from the Hellhounds, or any scars from his time on the rack, or any of the other myriad marks from a life lived as a Hunter, but his tits are gone. In their place are two raw lines under his pecs, burning like his shoulder, almost like someone had drawn a finger across his skin to seal up the incisions. Not quite top surgery scars, but something close.

Summary
“You’re sure you want to do this?” Hermann’s voice comes. It’s not judgey, or condescending, just checking in. He’s always so careful to check in.
Newt nods, runs a hand through his hair. “Yeah,” he says.
And he is – Newt is more sure about this than he’s been about just about anything since the Precursors were kicked to the curb. He’s sick of not recognizing himself in the mirror. Sick of seeing their face staring back at him.
It was their face. His body was their body. He was as nice a suit as the ones they made him wear, so nice they wore him to the prom for ten fucking years.
He’s made his body fit him once before, he can do it again.

Summary
Hermann Gottlieb is far from the most skilled when it comes to communication. If the disastrous first meeting with a certain penpal-turned-nuisance-turned-lab-partner wasn’t enough to prove it, he is often baffled by the intricacies of friendship, and he finds it to be much easier to simply lash out than to actually put his feelings into words.
This is a problem, however, when the aforementioned lab partner is exactly what is causing his unfortunate feelings.

Summary
The man known to a select few as Peter Nureyev is many things. A thief when convenient, a killer when necessary. Once upon a time he was a hopeful young freedom fighter, but that child died with his guardian’s blood on his hands. For a few hopeful weeks, he was a lover, a partner, daring to let a stupid and rash and beautiful detective into his heart. Then he discovered that though his heart belonged to Juno, Juno’s was held firmly by the far more familiar chaos of the city, and Peter became something he would rather not think about.
Or: Peter has some time to reflect while preparing for Nova Zolotovna's gala.
