Ilya Rozanov, the playboy darling of the oft-forgotten ECHL who never quite lived up to his full potential, spends the off-season hunting ghosts with his teammates Bood and Troy. When they dare to investigate the tragic ruins of NHL legend Shane Hollander's former cottage, they are expecting to be confronted by a cursed haunting, a vengeful demon, or at the very least... some entertaining Youtube-worthy content. What Ilya is not expecting, however, is to form an inexplicable bond with the ghost of a hot hockey player and discover that nothing (literally nothing at all) is quite as it seems.
OR; Shane is a ghost, Ilya can see dead people, and it's entirely possible that they once knew each other in a past life.

A video of Ilya Rozanov goes insanely viral one weekend. It’s him stopped on a red light, riding one of his bright sportscar, windows down with loud music, singing and bobbing along to Bad Bunny songs, an unlit cig between his lips, blissfully aware smoking (pun intended) hot he looks.
Few days later, he gets modelling/brand offers he gladly accepts to cure his boredom while Shane is out doing his own brand deals. To get Ilya into the mood, directors let him play his own playlists and do his own thing.
It breaks the internet.
If there’s one thing that Hayden accidentally outing them Shane is thankful for, it’s the fact that he can now stake his claim on Ilya. He just did not expect it’ll be against most of the internet and a quarter of the league.

He needs someone else to acknowledge his existence, his absence, to fucking tell him what’s going on so he can finally get it off his mind. It’s just a stupid mystery. That’s why it bugs him.
And then Hayden Pike looks up. Dark bruised circles under his eyes, face pale like a sheet, eyes red rimmed and puffy like he has been crying all day. The face of a man mourning.
Ilya feels like the ice might crack under him. Something’s wrong with Shane.

“I’m back!” came Miles’s voice. “Here are your drinks, some champagne for Rose and another beer for Shane.”
Rose, who was sitting at the edge of their booth, accepted both and handed them to Shane, who took a swig immediately. He didn’t really want to get drunk, he never did, but at least having a pleasant buzz would help make this easier.
“And look who I ran into,” Miles continued in a sing-songy manner.
“Oh my god, is that Ilya Rozanov?” Rose exclaimed.

What if Miles had approached Ilya at the club and brought him over to meet Rose and Shane, blissfully unaware that Ilya and Shane's relationship was more than just an on-ice rivalry? Suddenly, it's gotten a whole lot harder for Shane to pretend and for Ilya to forget, when the objects of their obsession are sitting right in front of them.
An alternate take on Episode 4/Chapter 14 where Shane and Ilya actually talk at the club instead of just staring at one another across the dance floor. Did kind of spiral out of control while writing into sort of a fix-it, or maybe just a timeline acceleration.
