The Battle of Hogwarts didn't happen. Just as Voldemort felt his 5th horcrux was destroyed, he went to get Harry on his own.
Spells were fired and curses were shot. An unforgettable duel had commenced between Harry Potter and Voldemort, two of the most powerful wizards the Wizarding Britain had seen.
Voldemort was left weakened yet alive with his loyal followers still in his command while Harry had fallen into a deep coma, with nothing but the blood of first-degree relative to awaken him.
Both the Light and the Dark knew an unborn child of Harry was in existence it was a race of time as everyone on both sides look for the 'Mother' and the baby.
Draco just wanted everything to be finished. And sleep. A lot.

Summary

That turns out to be both a curse and their greatest hope for neither one of them can survive without the other.
