Michael_Beloved is very good at making valentines.
It isn't that Ranboo had thought he wouldn't be. On the contrary, actually - Ranboo's son has always been bright and creative, burning through boxes of crayons and bushels of paper almost faster than his parents could provide them.
But as Michael carefully outlines his heart-shaped paper, going slowly to ensure he doesn't make any mistakes, Ranboo still finds himself getting awestruck.

Summary
After a minute or so of this person staring at the medicine while Tubbo stared at them, he starts to get a bit bored. So, he clears his throat, and says in a conversational voice, “They sell pretty damn good Tylenol here, don’t they?”
They jump, clearly taken aback by Tubbo’s appearance. They blink at him once before nodding slowly, clearing their throat.
“Isn’t, uh, most Tylenol the- the same everywhere?”

Tubbo is an accidental part of a kind-of family, worn tennis shoes firmly planted on the sidelines as a ticking time clock mocks the day his stolen life will crumble, shoved under the floorboards of his best friend's attic. In the waiting process, he meets a seventeen year old severely lacking in both memory and effective hair dye, who defines himself as the spaces between notebook pages and part-time jobs.
Like this, Tubbo meets Ranboo, who, despite everything, may be Tubbo's most worthwhile pit stop in his journey to survival yet.
(Or, a high school AU in which finding home and staying afloat are two tasks you can't shoulder at once, but there are other people who will carry the world with you, if you can muster the bitter task of giving it up first.)

“Oh, that did something, what did’ya do?”
“Pressed the off button, best to make sure it didn’t turn on while we were in here.” Tubbo replied.
“Ah, good call, Tubb-so. When you pushed it, this little light here came on.” He gestured to said light, a small yellow spot in the dark of the compartment. They continued to discuss, but Ranboo tuned it out.Standing above them in that tunnel, something felt… wrong.
There was a spark to the air, a pressure that wasn’t there a moment earlier.
He felt a buzzing from somewhere deep within his bones, building, growing, and screaming that this wasn’t a place they should be.

The first time Ranboo falls in love, it's a boy with the most neatly pressed suit he's ever seen. The boy's got whiskey on his breath and freckled scars spattered across his face like the milky way itself fell down and burned him, and he talks about policy and rebuilding and Ranboo doesn't hear a single goddamn word he says.

Summary
Tubbo and Ranboo don't really interact like normal couples, Ranboo has noticed. Most of their conversations are bickering and bantering like friends, sappy words are few and far between. Ranboo doesn't think that Tubbo has ever really said "I love you" to him outloud. They sleep in the same bed but spend most of their time apart. But they still inexplicably know that they love each other.
