Summary
Rolan misses his chance with Tav at the end of the events of BG3 and a year passes where his yearning only grows. An opportunity to see her again arises when the city of Baldur’s Gate throws a grand masquerade to celebrate the heroes who defended the city from the illithid plot. He’s not one for parties and he wants to toss the invite away. Will his sense of responsibility keep him from happiness?

Summary
As if her musings conjured the brown haired wizard, Thea nearly collided with him on the path to the shops. He had come out of one of the tailor shops with a package under his arm, his dark brown linen coat being tugged on and his focus being elsewhere. He dropped the package to catch Thea’s arms and then dropped them with a curse.
“Zurgan,” he hissed a bit as bent down to grasp and inspect his package. “You might be more mindful of your surroundings, Anthea, lest you walk right off of a pier.”
Thea wrapped her arms around her middle and discreetly touched the place on her right arm where Rolan had grasped her for a moment. Then she lowered her hands to her sides before she shot a smirk at him.
“One could say the same of you, Rolan, what with your preoccupation with your precious package. Plus we aren’t near enough to the water for me to walk off a pier.”
Rolan grumbled with a roll of his eyes, the yellow hellish eyes flicking a bit towards the sky as if asking the Gods for patience. Still, even though it was obvious he was annoyed with her, he gestured for her to go ahead of him as they headed past the shop. His hand smoothing down his expertly coiffed hair as he waited.
