Summary
While Kojiro likes to think no one knows Kaoru the way he does, the way he always has, he still wonders, sometimes, how — why — Kaoru had let the piercings go so easily.
“Y’know,” Kojiro says one evening, years later, leaning across the bar at Sia La Luce, “I still can’t believe you got rid of all your piercings.”
Kaoru raises an eyebrow, and then smirks a little, swishing the wine around in his glass. “Who said I got rid of all of them?"
or, an account of many, many piercings and how kojiro slowly, but surely, loses his sanity.

“You’re late,” Kaoru states frigidly, once Kojiro is close enough, nose high in the air. He doesn’t dare look at him and his… companion.
“Sorry,” Kojiro says, his tone drowning in smugness. His companion giggles. Kaoru can tell he’s grinning — unapologetically, shamelessly — without sneaking a glace, and the pebble nested in the pit of his stomach makes itself known again. “Time slipped away from us. Ah, you know how it is, Cherry.”
Us. Kaoru wants to retch. And he does not, in fact, know how it is.
(or, five times kojiro is at ‘s’ with someone on his arm, and one time that someone is kaoru.)
