“Here lemme show you.” Josh continues, pulling out his phone and showing Buck a photo of Eddie. “This is Eddie. Tall, dark, and handsome. Kind soul, cute kid, and your best friend.” Then he swipes to show a photo of Tommy, and well. “This is Tommy. Also tall, but geriatric, not that handsome. And, I can admit he may not be the ugliest man, but he is no god.” he swipes back to the photo of Eddie. “this man on the other hand. Glorious. Magnificent. Carved out of a rock by God himself.” Josh shuts his phone off and looks Buck straight in the eye. “Tell me why- no tell me how you can see that man every day and still date Tommy? I’m being serious tell me.”

Summary
“You’re starting to sound like him,” said Hunter.
Shane thought… if Hunter knew… he had had years to out them. He had been in the room next to Ilya’s. But he had never said anything. Feeling numb, terrified, Shane said, “I’m sorry, what?”
“You fucking heard me, Hollander.” Hunter’s face was so angry. Shane saw the truth, the threat, in the man’s face.
He was on a mic. He was mic’d. This would ruin Shane and Rozanov. He dropped his gloves without really thinking about it. He never dropped his gloves. Hunter couldn’t run his mouth without teeth. His teammates caught him and held him back. He chirped a lot, calling Hunter old and past it, hoping to distract him, get him to not say the worst thing he could possibly say. All Shane could hope for was a distraction.
When Hunter chirps at Shane while mic’d up for behind-the-scenes content, Shane feels sick. He knows his parents, Ilya and the world hear it, and he worries about the consequences.

Cliff sighed. It was time to bite the bullet. “Man, y’know, I always wanted a little brother. And my dad, God bless him, he musta been shooting just X chromosome sperm. Love all three of my little sisters, but what the fuck? No brother? I was born to be a big brother. I think of you as the little brother I never got growing up. You’re my favorite person to hang out with, and I feel like I’m at least sort of mentoring you. My kids adore you and call you Uncle Ilya. You’re the little brother I never had, and I’m so lucky to have you in my life.”
“Aww, Cliff, I like you too,” said Ilya jokingly.
“Roz, what I’m saying is, it’s okay that your Montreal girl is Shane Hollander. Scott Hunter is an asshole for whatever he was doing.”
Ilya was silent for a minute, “He was threatening to out us.”
“I’ll break both his fucking legs,” Cliff promised. “No one is getting you fired.”
“We’ve never thrown a game,” said Ilya, looking nervous, earnest.
“Of course you haven’t: you’re too competitive and he’s too autistic.”
“Artistic?” repeated Ilya. “I don’t think he can draw.”
