And with that look in her eyes, hastily flitting about as she pressed her lips into a thin line, brows creasing with what seemed to be a mix of anxiety and shame — it was a look Hobie was all too familiar with, one that he saw almost every day on the littered streets of Camden.

He should be getting up! It was two hours after he usually got out of bed. He had to make breakfast. Donnie wouldn't eat if he didn't get up, he had to leave a trail with coffee beans as it is. Leo wouldn't leave his room unless Mikey dragged him by the mask tails. Raph would wander around like a stray cat, a weird combo of anger and avoidance, if Mikey didn't coax him to the table. And breakfast wouldn't go well unless he was there, sitting between Raph and Leo so they wouldn't bump elbows. Both literally and figuratively.

Mikey has a bad time. Donnie helps. This is set right before the invasion.
