“If you would stop waking me up in the middle of the night, I might like it more,” Eddie sighs, half-genuine in his annoyance. “Buck kicks like a racehorse.”

"What happened to you not believing in that stuff?" Hen teased. "Something change while you were away?"
What, besides everything?
Normally, Buck would join in on the teasing, too. Honestly, he'd probably be leading the charge— but considering the fact that they still weren't talking outside of work-related matters (which, now that they weren't partnered, turns out pretty few and far between), he chose to keep his thoughts to himself instead. The group wasn't missing much, anyways. They mainly consisted of a steady stream of what the fucks sandwiched between flashes of his dead captain and questions along the lines of when should I apologize to Eddie and how should I apologize to Eddie and will Eddie accept my apology.
Buck has a bad day at work, he asks the trauma counsellor to help him make sense of it.
Or; Eddie has an okay day at work, the trauma counsellor wants to talk about it anyways.

"Oh," Buck says. He drops the knife on the counter and scoops up the cockroach. "Hey, buddy."

It takes a while for Eddie to realize this morning is not like the others, that there’s this wrongness thick in the air of the room.
It takes a while for Eddie to realize Buck’s tense and stiff as a board in his arms and that he’s not responding to any of Eddie’s touches with the usual eagerness and earnestness as only Buck can be.
“Buck, baby?” His voice comes out all croaky from the tiredness and from only just waking up. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I, uh, I don’t-” Buck stutters, crawling out of bed and getting his legs all tangled in the sheets in his haste. Eddie’s frozen in place. “I don’t, uh— Who are you?.”
