In which Fire Lord Zuko and Ambassador Sokka get drunk, go fishing, watch theatre, uncover a conspiracy, visit a teahouse, destroy a historical monument, and reckon with the painful legacy of the past – but not necessarily in that order. [PODFIC AVAILABLE]

Possibly my favorite atla fic ever. Heavy themes of colonialism, genocide & racism delicately handled, lots of worldbuilding expansion, Sokka's trauma acknowledged and explored! internalized homophobia and toxic masculinity for the boys to work out, plus plenty of in-character silliness, miscommunication, jokes and adventures.

A favorite. Lengthy podfic, excellently done, very very good story. So much toxic masculinity and internalized homophobia for the boys to work out amidst assassination attempts, new dangerous foes, terrifying new styles of fire bending, and... going to a brothel? All in all, very cathartic. Definitely a favorite.
