Summary
Damian huffs, sounding slightly annoyed again, but Jason's starting to think that it might just be his default tone of voice, "Yes, Todd. I have been going for about two months now. Thomas and I decided it was essential to our livelihoods."
There's a lot to unpack in that confession. Mostly though, Jason is rather horrified at all the emotions he's suddenly feeling and receiving. The last conversation he can remember having with Damian had been a few months ago where Red Hood had chucked the kid to the side before he could get shot, to which Robin told him never manhandle me like that again you neanderthal.
So this was a lot to take in at seven in the morning.
(Jason becomes a big brother and rebuilds some bridges, all in good time.)

Finding the first article was an accident. Izuku had been researching local history for a school project, digging through a digitized library microfilm archive. “Child Missing in Ikeda Lake Park: Kase Family Appeal to Kidnappers.” Sixty seven years ago… more than half a century.
Two such stories near Ikeda Lake could be a coincidence, especially given the long time between them. Three was a… very strange coincidence. Four was a pattern.
Izuku's acquaintance went missing in Ikeda Lake Park. She wasn't the only one.

Summary
The forest. It was old and uncontrolled, a single barely noticeable path from the back of the house and then nothing else. The trees were large enough that the thick canopy put the ground in shadow at almost all times. There should have been animals roaming in it, but Izuku had never seen as much as a single squirrel running about. Izuku had set foot in there once, and spent the rest of his life trying to forget it.
Why his father’s ancestors had decided to put a house right at the edge of it had never made any sense to him.
Why his father insisted on him coming back, he could understand even less.

Ogawa made a noise not unlike a heating tea kettle, a shrill whine that grew in length and pitch until it was practically a shriek. "Mr. Deku, sir, please accept my humblest apologies!"
