     I hope Hizashi remembers.

    Tenacious, Shouta clings to the thought, to Hizashi’s face, as blood runs from his shattered skull and down over his forehead, his cheeks. He’s going to die here.

    But not yet. Not yet. He glares, eyes wide open, splintered occipital floor straining. Asui won’t die here. Not while he’s still breathing. Not while he can still see her. The blood in his eyes tints her skin a sticky, horrible red. 

    The Nomu slams him down a final time and, overcome with grief, Shouta’s world explodes into shards of bright white pain.

    I hope he remembers.
