Eddie went to scavenge for food as Wham! continued. He wasn’t blind. He knew self-soothing techniques when he saw them. When his one-person support system worked nights, it was more often than not that Eddie was alone when panic attacks reared their ugly heads. They liked to strike at night, when the house was quiet and his thoughts were loud. It was how metal music became Eddie’s lullabies. It was the only thing loud enough to drown out the restless noise in his own head.
If Wham! was Chrissy’s Dio, who was he to judge?
Okay, maybe he judged a little– but he’d never let her know that.

The rain was unrelenting. Your shelter was mediocre, at best: a shack which might have been watertight back in the Civil war, but which now had more leaks than a sieve.
Still, it was better than being outside. You pulled the bedrolls a little further into the one mostly dry corner before a newly weeping leak could wet them, your thoughts turning to your companion outside. Arthur had gone to move the horses into the shelter of the trees, wanting to spare them a little from your poor luck.

But Arthur looks too good leaning back against that tree, hat tipped low, eyes on you like he’s already made up his mind. One thing leads to another, and suddenly you’re in his lap, moving with him in the still air, the creak of leather and his low groans carrying through the trees.
