He thinks that being straight forward is probably the best way to go about it, but there’s still a delicacy to presenting the implications that he tries to maintain. He scrambles for a minute to try and figure out what way to word it and instead he just ends up hedging around the bush. “Do you understand what we just agreed to?”
“Yeah?” Cheng Xiaoshi looks more confused. He scrutinizes Lu Guang's expression for some sort of clue. “We’re going to a wedding and we’re doing an easy dive to help give a sentimental gift.”
“We’re going to a wedding as partners.” Lu Guang says, trying to put enough emphasis on the word that it clicks in Cheng Xiaoshi’s head.
It doesn’t. “…Yeah.”
Lu Guang scrubs a hand over his face for a moment, wishing for more strength than he has as he finally says, “Romantic partners.”
