“Shut UP,” Lloyd snapped, the words ripping out harsher than he meant. “You don’t know anything.”
“On the contrary,” Ras hissed, “I know exactly what you are. The child of two immortal races… who cannot survive being both.”
Arin’s face went pale.
“Lloyd…” His voice cracked. “That… that isn’t true, right?”
Lloyd didn’t answer.
Because Lloyd wasn’t there.
The wind stopped. The sky dimmed, like even the clouds knew to be afraid. Lloyd’s head snapped up, and his eyes—

Summary
Lloyd managed to get onto the bounty with only an embarrassing amount of struggle. At least he could kind of take a step. That was something, right? He was going to pretend like it was, it made him feel like he wasn’t a total mess right now.
Everything was a blur. The ninja put him on a chair and tried to talk to him, but their words were fuzzy. Eventually, they stopped. Maybe they knew he wasn’t listening to them, maybe they got tired of him, he didn’t know.
Everything felt too loud, far too much. He didn’t want to do this anymore. He didn’t want to be the Green Ninja. He never did, not honestly. It was so much responsibility, and he wasn’t mature enough for that. First Master, the others would scold him for that.
He never liked admitting that he couldn’t do everything by himself. He didn’t want to burden others. He was independent, whether that was a bad thing or not was up to you. He had a hard time accepting help.
That was not a good trait to have when you could barely stand on your own, Lloyd learned.
