It was one thing to know something and another to see it with your own eyes, to bear witness to the transformation from a person to the divine and the blood spilled along the way. The tales varied, the stories differed, but there was always blood.
As Kara readied herself to throw again, she reached out with her left hand behind her. Her fingers were open, splayed, searching. I stepped up and grasped them, squeezing with reassurance even as her other arm readied the spear. I would support her always, even in this.
