“Oh, right – Alhaitham.” Kaveh claps a hand to his forehead. “Cyno, if you see him at the Akademiya tomorrow, don’t mention this to him, would you? I haven’t told him yet.”
“Told him?” Cyno asks slowly, a wary glint in his eye. “What exactly haven’t you told him?”
“That I’m getting married,” Kaveh grimaces. “I wanted to tell him myself – I suppose I do want him at the wedding after all, you know – but I didn’t get a chance yet. You know what it’s like, trying to have a conversation with him.”
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.

Summary
He’s focused on the open book in front of him, hand and charcoal moving across the page in quick strokes, a manner that suggests he’s sketching. Perhaps in a sign of his considerable concentration, his tongue is peeking out of his thin lips. In a place as structured as the Akademiya, the subconscious action veers towards the unprofessional, as if he is sticking his tongue out at the rigidity and strictness of the pursuit of knowledge in favor of things as flighty as beauty and art.
Kaveh sticks his tongue out while he concentrates. Alhaitham notices.
Five times Alhaitham is distracted by Kaveh sticking out his tongue (and one time Kaveh realizes just how distracting it is)

Summary
Looking away from Alhaitham goes against every fiber of his being, but he does it anyway, afraid of what he might find.“Did you want to try kohl too?” he forces out instead.
Alhaitham ignores the question entirely. “Are you… unhappy living here?” He asks.
Where Alhaitham's suddenly curious about kohl, Kaveh's really good at makeup, and they pine so much they could out-pine a pine forest.
