“Where were you during the last akuma attack?”
The question rang out in Adrien’s head. “I was at a shoot.”
The detective leant back his chair. “That’s not what your photographer said.” He crossed his arms, glowering down at him. “He told us you never even bothered showing up.” The man’s eyes locked onto his own. His eyes were harsh and unyielding, actively scrutinizing Adrien’s story. “Lying won’t help you here, kid. Your dad confessed. Just tell us the truth, and we can cut you a deal. You’re young,” he pushed. “You don’t have to go down for your dad’s mistakes.”
Adrien’s heart pounded in his chest. He glanced at Ladybug across the table. He could practically see the gears turning in her head, trying to figure him out. Rubbing his palms together, the rattle of the cuffs dragged him out of his thoughts. “I’m telling you the truth.” His voice wavered, “I was at a shoot.”

She no longer looks frozen, but her skin is still so unnervingly pale. When Jackie lifts her head to look back at Shauna, her eyes flicker for a second when the light catches onto them. But most obvious, and worst of all, is the blood around her mouth. Red going down her chin and stuck on her bared teeth as Jackie pants like she’s a goddamn cornered animal.
“Jackie?” Shauna tries again, voice shaking. She leaves the knife on the floor and sits on her knees to reach out a hand. Shauna doesn’t care that she might get hurt because (Jackie it’s Jackie it’s really Jackie).

Summary
Gabriel Agreste discovers Adrien sneaking out of the mansion on more than one occasion, and finally decides to do something about it. He places Adrien virtually under house arrest, keeping watch on him at all times and cutting off his contact with his friends.
Around the same time, Chat Noir disappears, leaving Ladybug to fight Hawkmoth on her own. As the attacks rise in frequency, Ladybug struggles to keep up with her commitments as Marinette and her role protecting Paris as Ladybug.
