In many settings, it would seems like a scary encounter he should run away from.
But there’s something peculiar in this one, because there are butterflies surrounding them and resting on the zinnias, the sun is shining hard over their heads and burning his cheeks, and the delicate sound of the village bristling with activity not far away makes everything more reassuring and less scary ― and perhaps this is why, instead of being creeped out or scared, Arundolyn decides to go and talk to the young man.
Perhaps the kind eyes the other is locking on him also have something to do with this decision.
Him suddenly moving towards this direction seems to wake the stranger from whatever daydream he seemed to be having; and when he reaches the entrance of the farm, with only a few meters separating them now, the man is the first to talk.
